If your interviews, sales calls, or research recordings aren't in English — or you need to hand a foreign-language call off to an English-speaking team — a transcript alone isn't enough. You need that transcript translated into a language your team can actually read and act on.
Transkio handles this in two steps, not one messy pipeline. Upload the audio and Transkio transcribes it accurately in its original spoken language first. Once that transcript is ready, request a translation into whichever language you need, and Transkio adds a translated text version alongside the original — same speakers, same structure, just readable in a new language.
Manual Translation Is Slow, and Text-Only Tools Don't Touch Audio
Hiring a human translator for a 45-minute interview can take days and cost more than the interview itself. Translation tools built for typed text don't handle audio at all — you'd have to transcribe it somewhere else first, copy the text into a translator, then reformat everything by hand before anyone could actually read it.
That hand-off between separate transcription and translation tools is where speaker labels, structure, and accuracy tend to get lost.
Transcribe First, Then Translate the Transcript — in the Same Place
Upload your audio file and Transkio transcribes it in the language it was spoken in, with speaker labels and clickable timestamps you can edit directly. From that finished transcript, choose a target language and Transkio generates a translated text version of the conversation — no re-uploading, no separate translation software, no copy-pasting between tools.
The translated output is a readable transcript, not a dubbed audio track or a translated caption file — built for reading, sharing in a report, or dropping into meeting notes.

Frequently asked questions
Which plan includes audio translation?
Translation is available starting on the Pro plan. The Free plan transcribes audio but does not include translation.
Can I export translated subtitles (SRT or VTT)?
Not yet. Translation currently produces a translated text transcript, which you can export as TXT (and DOCX or JSON depending on your plan). Subtitle exports (SRT/VTT) stay in the original spoken language — there's no translated caption file yet.
How accurate is the translation, and how many languages are supported?
Transkio supports 50+ languages. Translation accuracy depends on audio clarity and the specific language pair, and because the translated transcript is fully editable, you can correct any line before sharing it.
Do I upload my audio twice — once to transcribe and once to translate?
No. You upload once. Transkio transcribes the audio in its original language, and translation is a follow-up step you run on that same transcript — no second upload required.
What audio formats can I upload for translation?
Transkio accepts MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, OPUS, and FLAC audio files. Upload one of these formats, transcribe as usual, then translate the resulting transcript into your target language.
