Terms of Service

Effective date: August 27, 2026

These terms govern your use of Transkio. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Transkio.

1. Registration and eligibility

You need an account to use most of Transkio. You must provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher).

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Transkio to:

  • Upload or record content you don't have the right to process.
  • Violate any law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
  • Resell or redistribute access to the service without our written permission.

Recording other people is your responsibility. Many jurisdictions require the consent of some or all participants before you record a call or meeting. When you use Transkio's recorder, you confirm that you have all the consent required by the laws that apply to you and to everyone being recorded. Transkio is a tool for capturing and transcribing audio you're authorized to record — we don't verify consent on your behalf, and we're not responsible for how you use the recording feature.

3. Your content and transcripts

You retain ownership of everything you upload or record, and of the transcripts, summaries, translations and subtitles generated from it. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service (including sending it to our AI provider — see the AI Policy). We don't claim ownership of your content, and we don't use it to train models.

4. Accuracy of transcripts

Transcripts, summaries, translations and speaker labels are generated by AI and can contain errors — especially with poor audio, heavy accents, overlapping speech, or uncommon terminology. Review AI-generated output before relying on it for anything important, and don't treat it as a substitute for professional judgment in medical, legal, or other high-stakes contexts.

5. Intellectual property

Transkio's software, branding, and website content (excluding your own uploaded content) belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from them except as the service itself allows (for example, exporting your own transcripts).

6. Plans, billing and cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance via Stripe. Switching plans takes effect immediately and is prorated; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access to your transcripts either way. Full detail is in our Cancellation Policy.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or remove features, and may need to perform maintenance that temporarily affects access.

8. Termination

You can stop using Transkio and delete your account at any time (see Settings). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or pose a security risk, with notice where reasonably possible.

9. Warranty disclaimer

Transkio is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement — to the extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Transkio won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Transkio against claims arising from your content, your use of the recording feature without proper consent, or your violation of these terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by German law, applicable to Transkio's operating entity — see our Impressum for its registered details.

13. Copyright complaints

If you believe content processed through Transkio infringes your copyright, email legal@transkio.com with a description of the work, the allegedly infringing content, and your contact details, and we'll investigate.

14. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms? Use our contact form, email support@transkio.ai, or for legal matters specifically, legal@transkio.com.
